No faculty in five depts from Dumka Medical College

Dumka: Three months after the National Medical Council (NMC) gave the nod to the Phulo Jhano Medical College and Hospital (PJMCH) to hold acceptance for the academic year 2021-22, an NMC inspector has found shortcomings at the College teaching faculty.
Dr.
Ramesh BH, the NMC inspector, who inspects two universities, has found that five departments do not have one faculty member.
Apart from that, several departments have an acute crisis of teachers.
The NMC inspector arrived here on Wednesday and went for Karnataka on Friday.
Dr.
Arun Kumar, the principal responsible for the PJMCH, said the recent inspection would not affect the ongoing acceptance for the current academic year because the NMC had nodded based on the guarantee of college management.
“However, if the lack of faculty members is not immediately overcome, lacunae can hurt the prospect of college in the near future,” Kumar said.
In its implementation to NMC, the PJMCH administration has been convinced to fill the lack of faculty and infrastructure gap before the commencement of the academic session of 2022-23.
Five departments that do not have one faculty member are biochemical departments, pharmacology, radiology, skin and anesthesia.
College management did not succeed in filling out the faculty post since the college began in 2019-20.
That’s because of the shortcomings in these departments that NMC has forbade universities from receiving 100 seats for MBBS seats for the 2020-21 academic session.
“PJMCH can continue to run MBBS courses for the next academic session if at least a faculty post is confirmed at at least the departments where there is no one now,” Kumar said.
