Vadodara: The University of M S has pocketed a research project on education for rural transformation: reality and challenges of land ‘from the National Center for Mahatma Gandhi for rural education (MGNCRE) from the Ministry of India’s Ministry of Education.
K Pushpanadham, Professor of Education Management and Head of the Education Administration Department has pocketed a project with a grant of Rs 5.5 lakh for a period of 17 months.
This project is to study education as a catalyst for rural transformation, identifying good practices, success stories, analyzing functions regardless of the challenges faced in rural transformation.
It is also intended to develop an inclusive and integrated educational framework for rural transformation.
“In January 2018, the Prime Minister has launched the transformation of the Aspirational Regency to improve the social economic status of 112 districts identified from all 28 countries,” said Professor Pushpanadham.
“This initiative focuses on the strength of each district and prioritizes results that can be achieved for immediate improvement, while measuring progress and ranking from certain districts.
The main focus is to quickly and effectively change some of the most retarded countries,” he said.
“There are six indicators in this project and education are one of the main indicators.
Through the MGNCRE project, we will critically analyze educational opportunities for lifelong learning, skills development for the ability of work and economic sustainability in the rural Gujarat.
This study will be conducted in Narmada Regency And Dahod has been identified as an aspirational district in the state, “he said.
