Tel Aviv: Israeli Hospital said a man who was reported to have died because the Omicron variant of Coronavirus was found to have a Delta variant.
Israeli health officials reported death earlier this week.
It will be the first victim of Omicron in the country.
Soroka Hospital, located in the southern city of Beersheba, said on Thursday that the final test results from the Israeli Ministry of Health showed that the man was infected with Delta.
Israel has identified 341 omicron cases.
It has been very limited air traffic in and out of the country and imposes a series of public restrictions to prevent the spread of very contagious variants.
Director of the Ministry of Health also considers whether to give a second booster shot for risky groups, following the recommendations by the medical advisor group.
Israel, a country from 9.3 million people, has reported more than 8,200 Covid-19 deaths during a pandemic.
