New Delhi: Olmpian Fencer Bhavani Devi First in India will take part in four international competitions in the next calendar year after the sports ministry gave sanctions a number of Rs 8.16 lakh to facilitate their participation in events.
According to the ministry statement, the number was approved through an annual calendar for the training and competition scheme (ACTC).
Bhavani, who won his first round individual sword program before falling in the 32 round of the match at the Tokyo Olympics earlier this year, will participate in training camps in Tbilisi, Georgia from January 4, before competing at the International Federation Federation.
(FIE) World Cup in the same city from January 14 to January 16.
He will then compete in the World Cup in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, scheduled from January 28 to 29.
Bhavani, is currently ranked 55th in the world in the individual female sword category, will also participate in the following FIE World Cup in Greece and Belgium from 4 to March 5 and 18 to 19 to 19.
The Ministry of Sports, earlier this year, has agreed to a number of acts from RS 3 Crore to the Indian Fence Association (FAI) for the financial year 2021-22, until March 2022.
