Jaipur: Although there is no demand for gem gems and jewelry, inventory issues, especially labor, is still a concern, said Rajiv Jain, Jaipur’s Jaipur jewelry secretary.
Speaking with Toi on the sidelines of JJS which began on Friday, Jain said after a pandemic, some workers did not return to trading creating a shortage of manufacturing units.
“About 15% of workers involved in the core manufacturing process do not return because they find opportunities for other livelihoods in their place of origin,” Jain added.
While the industry has taken responsibility to train new people and is compiling them into trade, it takes time.
“Our association in Sitapura has trained new people, including women who were previously not part of the process of jewelry making.
It will take time,” Jain added.
Likewise, the raw material pipe also runs out because it imports during locking.
“Through organized sales (auction), it has not been stable for several categories of gemstones such as rubies.
But there are shortcomings.
So far the countries from which color stone is imported not affected by the omicron virus.
If they are affected, there will be pressure on Supply of raw materials too, “added Jain.
With regard to demand, export decreases slightly.
But domestic demand has survived quite well.
JJS Ajay spokesman when saying, “Marriage request has been strong.
There are hidden requests and some marriages cannot occur last year because of the pandemic.
However, we expect requests to remain stable in a few months.
And the quarter if there is no surprise from the Omicron Front.
“When he said because of supply constraints, diamond prices have increased by about 10% and the like is a case of a gem.
The event was inaugurated on Friday by Amit Yadav, Director General, Directorate of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and additional secretaries, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Trade and Industry.
