Bengaluru: Verification of the Sign Card belonging to thousands of people who landed government work in 2017-18 has revealed that 91 of them, trained in various industrial training institutions (ITIS) in the state, are equipped with fake documents.
Police Siddapura registered a cheating and forgery case against 91 people on December 23, based on complaints submitted by Chandrashekara BL, Joint Director at the Office of Industrial and Employment Training Commissioners.
He accused that various government institutions sent a sign card to the office to verify 2017-18 during their recruitment process.
Three Committee was formed – on September 12, 2017 and 31 January and June 23, 2018 – to verify the document.
The committee has now submitted their findings.
Many of the 91 people are employed in public sector businesses.
“The Committee found that this 91 people’s signal card was fake.
Many get it with the help of officials in the Training Department and Industrial Work.
Some accept them from individuals,” alleged Chandrashekara.
The suspects belonged to Tarikote, Hungund, Hirur, Hosapete, Channapatna, Devalapura, Bengaluru, Tangadigi, Mudden and other places.
Many of the districts in North Carnataka.
Police Siddapura verified the document.
An officer said all the suspects would be called and interrogated to find out how they got a certificate.
The police added that several state institutions and officials were allegedly behind fraud.
“After we question the suspects mentioned in FIR, we might get more information about the perpetrators behind the fraud and money involved,” the officer said.
The police registered a case below the IPC 419 section (cheating on personation), 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery for cheating purposes), 471 (using fake documents), and 34 (actions carried out by several people in the continuation of general intentions).
