Coimbatore: Secretary of Youth Wing DMK Udhayanidhi Stalin said that he was not interested in becoming a minister.
Overcoming DMK workers in the city on Sunday at an event to launch the drive of the party’s membership, Udhayanidhi said that he wanted to serve as a bridge between the chairman of the minister and people.
Chepauk MLA responded to comments by former Minister of Pongalur Palaniswami and Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji that Udhayanidhi must immediately become Deputy Minister of Chief or at least a minister.
“Palantur Palaniswami and Senthil Balaji said I had to be a minister.
But I did not take care of such desires,” he said.
Over the past few days, several DMK leaders including several ministers said that Udhayanidhi had to be a minister.
“What I want is to serve people always, become one of you as DMK workers and issue my duties to serve the masses,” he said.
Since DMK returned to power, Udhayanidhi had traveled across the country, participating in party events and public meetings invited criticism from opposition parties that he was Deputy Minister de facto.
“I want to stand beside you and work for kazhagam until the end.
I want to support you in serving people, serving thalavar (chairman of Minister M K Stalin).
In fact, I want to act as a bridge between you and Thaivar,” he said.
