Pune: University of Vishwakarma (VU) based in the city, Sahyadri Producer Producer Limited (SFPCL), and Rural Development Foundation Sahyadri in Nashik recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop a communication model to disseminate the development of the Farmer Manufacturer Company (FPC) Movement in India.
Both institutions along with media practitioners and experts will conduct research on scientific dissemination of information about FPC on the media platform.
Sahyadri Farms MD and Chairperson of Vilas Shinde and Dr.
Chetan Kapadnis, Dean, Media Faculty and Communication, at Vu signed the MoU in Nashik.
According to the release, Vilas Shinde has said that the FPC movement is rooted in India and must be scientifically communicated to stakeholders and the general public.
“The FPC movement is the only hope for small and marginal farmers.
The Union Government encourages FPCS and the right distribution of information in the media platform is very important”.

Pramod Rajebhosale, CEO – FPC incubation center for horticulture, Agriculture Sahyadri insisted that FPCS must have a communication strategy to connect all stakeholders including consumers.
Chetan Kapadnis said that Vu would involve all stakeholders in the process of developing communication models.
Veteran journalist and academic Dr.
Kiran Thakur while speaking during the signing of the MoU said that agriculture needs to be part of the mainstream media curriculum.
Prof.
Vaibhav Thakane, Head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Vu told that this is the first of its kind project that will study the FPC movement and its communication strategy.

Mayuresh Belsare, Prof.
Rahul Mate, Sukhate of Sahyadri, and the others were present on that occasion.
