Mumbai: IIT-Bombay class in 1996 promised at RS 17 Crore to the Legacy Institute project during the alumni day event.
The funds will be used to support several start-up incubation in community institutions for innovation and entrepreneurship and student technology clubs to facilitate their participation in global competition.
A legacy project was adopted by a batch that celebrated Jubilee to contribute to the Institute’s improvement and left their inheritance.
The 1995 class has promised Rs 20.3 Crore and 1994 batch graduates, Rs 12.1 Crore in the past two years.
On Sunday, Batch 1996 alumni were permitted on campus, following all Covid-19 protocols.
The Institute also launched the annual fundraising campaign ‘Go Iit Bombay’.
