Navi Mumbai: A former Navy man and a home painter has been split by Khandeshwar police because of their brave chase and catch robbers who have taken the golden chain of a 70-year-old woman on the road in the new panvel in December 25 in the morning.
Other painters could not come to the police station over his criminals because of the previous commitment.
Former Navy Man Anand Singh (41) stayed at the new Panvel and home painter Sukhdev Patole (32) living in Sikhapur Village Panvel Taluka.
Pravin Pandey, Police Assistant Inspector Khandeshwar said that on December 25 at around 9:30 a.m., the victim, had stepped out of his building to reach the nearby physiotherapy camp, when a robber came from behind and grabbed his golden chain.
Despite falling and injured, the woman managed to shout assistance.
Looked at his call to help some men come to save him.
The painter, patole and his colleague ran behind the robber while shouting ‘Chor Chor’.
They pursued robbers for about 200 meters and when they reached the park, the former Navy, Singh, heard them and ran behind robbers, who tripped and fell on the road.
Singh pounced on the robber and held it back.
They held back robbers until the swamp police arrived and arrested him.
He has been identified as Mangesh Dinhgya (19).
The Pande API said, “We have restored the golden chain of senior residents worth Rs 75,000 from ownership of robbers.
We are embarrassing the ex-human navy and painters with award certificate.”
