Family of five new covid clusters in DK

Mangaluru: The new Covid-19 cluster has appeared in a family in Belthangady Taluk Village in the District of Dakshina Kannada.
Five families, the samples have been sent for genome sequencing, do not have a recent history of travel in the country or internationally.

While seven cases of omicron variants were reported in Dakshina Kannada, this district has not received a report about almost 80 other samples.

“For the first time in more than three months, a family cluster has been reported.
The District Health Department has taken all the steps to break the chain.
Our officials and staff have monitored the village and collected samples from all contacts.
None of them have a history of travel.

Jagadeesh District Supervision Officer said: “We have tested the RT-PCR on all the main and secondary contact in the area.
More than 100 samples from locality have been collected.”
