Rajkot: A lawyer and his brother from Chhatisgarh was arrested for posing as an IAS officer to seek VIP care while visiting Somnath Temple in the Somnath Gir District on Tuesday.
The defendant was identified as the practice of Sharad Pande’s advocate, a resident of Korgba Regency in Chhattisgarh and his brother Ravi Pande.
According to the police, Sharad called the Somnath Collector and Sub-Divisional Magistrate gear that identified himself as a representative of the legal secretary in Delhi on December 26.
Sharat told the collector that a high court judge, who would soon be promoted to the Supreme Court and two advocates came to Somnath’s temple.
He asked for collectors to make arrangements for the VIP room, protocol officers and vehicles.
Sharad also made a call similar to the Sarkyu Zankar sub-division judge.
However, when there was no message from Gandhinagar, Zankar was suspicious and told the police.
Investigation, the police learned that Sharad, along with his brother Ravi and Judge Judicial Class One (JMFC), Korgba, Anjali Singh had come to Gujarat.
They have taken a flight from Raipur to Ahmedabad and also asked for a DCM train to arrange rooms at the railroad guest house.
Sharad and Ravi visited the city of Dwarka Temple and there they also introduced ourselves as an IAS officer.
The Somnath Gir Gir Supervisory Assistant, Om Prakash Jat, told Ti “after getting information from Dwarka police, who had found the defendant for suspicious, we booked a room for them.
We also called them to tell them that all settings had been made according to the protocol.
When they came, we asked for their ID card but they refused to show it.
During interrogation, they recognized their crime.
“Sharad and his brother Ravi was ordered under the IPC part 170, 419 and 114, while there were no cases that could be submitted against Anjali Singh because He did not call anyone and did not show fake identification.
