Ahmedabad: Given the New Year Party, City and State Police have started a large drive to examine driving violations and drunk mushrooms.
City traffic police recorded 169 cases to drive in Drunken since Saturday.
Of the 169 cases, 53% came from the western part of the city.
On the first day of the drive on Saturday, 34 people to drive drunk, followed by 49 cases on Sunday and 86 on Monday.
Officials said cases of violations of night hours were increasing.
On Monday night, 133 cases were registered for violating curfews.
Director General Gujarat Police Ashish Bhatia said, “We are alert, and a special encouragement has been launched throughout the state to take strict action against Drunken Driving.
The actions are being taken against the bootleggers and operating scales have been intensified.” Premvir Singh, the additional commissioner of the police ( Special branch), said the Covid case increased, the curfew had been applied from 11 nights and therefore the city police were above the toes, especially against drunk drivers and those who violated the curfew.
“He said the drive had begun and 13,000 police including Constables and Home Guard Jawan were placed in all cities.
He said the patrol has also been intensified, when drunken drunk cases increased as a new year’s eve approach.
He will also patrol to examine women’s crime .
officials said that of the 169 cases, 57 registered by the traffic police for drunk driving while 112 registered by various police stations in the city.
of the 112 cases, the highest number, 26, is listed by the police Zone VI, whose jurisdiction includes police station Isanpur , VATVA, Maninagar, Danilimda, Kagdapith and Narol.
It was attended by 23 in Zone II, which included Chandkheda, Madhavpura, Ranip, Sabarmati, Karanj and Shahpur.
