Bhubaneswar: The Kalinga Industrial Technology Institute, which is considered a university in the city, has secured first rank in the category of self-financing / private institutions under the institutional rating of the institution in the Achievement of Innovation (Ariia) announced by the Center on Wednesday.
Samanta, Founder of Kiit and KISS (Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences), said, “It comes as the best in categories for the second year in a row proving our superiority in the field of research and innovation.” Ariia is a joint initiative from the Ministry of Education and the All India’s council for technical education (AICTE) to systematically rank higher education institutions in this country in parameters such as patents submitted and given, the number of students registered and funds, generation funds by start-up Incubated, special infrastructure made by them to promote innovation and entrepreneurship.
The ranks have been announced for nine categories, including centralized technical institutions, state universities, state independent technical colleges, private universities, private independent technical colleges, non-technical governments and universities and private institutions.
Except Kiit, no other institution of the country has secured a place in the top 10 in nine categories of Ariia 2021.
In the category of Institute of National Important and Central University / Technical Institutions Funded (Technical), IIT Bhubaneswar has secured A Place in the ‘band column -Performer ‘.
University of the Institute of Engineering and Technology Gandhi in Ringgada District has found a place in the ‘Band-Excellent’ column in the Private University category.
Similarly, the University of Technology and Management of Centurion, who have campuses in four districts, and the global University of CV Raman here have secured a place in the ‘band-performer’ column in the Private University (Technical) category.
