Coimbatore: Sulur Police on Monday arrested four men because illegally save 30 tons of rice ration in failing near Papampatti Pirivu here.
The police said that men planned to smuggle rice to Kerala.
The people who were arrested were identified as K Chokkalingam, 40, from Kazafavasal in Sivaga District, D Raja, 47, from Sivaganga, M Harikrishnan, 20, Kavundampalayam, and P King Pattani, 39, from Rathinapuri.
According to the police, Chokkalingam has hired a warehouse owned by Godown in Govindan in Pappampatti Pirivu a few months ago.
He collected PDS rice bags from various districts and save them in failing to smuggle them to Kerala.
Based on the tip, the police carried out a surprise attack at The failure and found a rice bag.
Immediately, the police arrested the people and caught the rice bag and a truck belonging to them.
