Coimbatore: Monthly meeting for the Head of the District Head (CEO) held on Tuesday displays a special session on effectively handling complaints of sexual harassment from students.
The meeting was organized by officials of the School Education Department, who asked the CEO to ensure internal investigation immediately after receiving complaints of sexual harassment and told children 108 and the police for further investigation, instead of postponing the action on the complaint.
It should be noted that a government school teacher was arrested in the district a few days ago after part of the girl students took to the streets, demanding action against the teacher for sexual harassment.
The students reportedly filed complaints with the principal a week before the performance of protests, but there was no action.
Therefore, the CEO was asked to ensure a quick question, after informing the relevant authorities.
Officials have also asked the CEO to ensure the right intervention to bridge the learning gap among students.
Indicates that the prolonged interval of physical classes is the main reason for learning gaps, they have asked the CEO to provide additional training to students to increase the learning curve.
Officials of the School Education Department has also asked the CEO to do what is needed to track students, who have been absent from school for a long time and register it back to school.
