Gurgaon: The City and State Meeting Department (DTCP) will conduct guesthouse inspections in the city to find out if they run with valid documents and follow government guidelines.
Actions will be taken against facilities found in illegally.
Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg held a meeting of task force on Tuesday and discussed issues related to mushrooming illegal guesthouses in the city.
“Guesthouse inspections will be made within a month.
The government has framed policies regarding guesthouse operations.
Those who follow the policy will face legal action,” he said.
The source said even though there were around 2,500 guesthouses in the city, only 100 to 120 of them were approved by competent authorities.
Most of the guesthouses are in licensed colonies such as DLF 1-3, Suncity, Palam Vihar, Sushant Lok, City and Sector 45, 46 and 47.
According to the latest government policy, the guesthouse is allowed to plot a housing of 500 square kilometers.

Even two plots of 500 square meters or more exchanged for building facilities will be approved.
But there are many guesthouses in the city in a plot measuring less than 200 square meters.
The City Planner District Hospital Batth said the department was preparing an action plan to check the guesthouse located along the licensed internal colony.
“Most of these guesthouses can be found in DLF areas, Sushant Lok 1 and South City 1 and 2.

But after recent policy changes, the department renewed the data about illegal guesthouses,” he added.
At the meeting, Garg told the officials to also travel together by DTCP, Municipal Corporation and DHBVN against illegal construction and encroachment in Saraswati Kunj before January 15.
