Guwahati: In an effort to achieve the goal of zero accident during the December 31 celebration and overall accidents in the state, the transportation minister Chandra Mohan Patowary marked from nine very sophisticated traffic interceptor vehicles (TIV) S at Assam Administrative Staff College on Tuesday night Tuesday.

A government spokesman said the new TIV was deployed would operate in Beacan, Dhubri, Hojai, Anglong carbi, Morigaon, Sivasagar, Kamrup, Lakhimpur Regency and will be used by the Central Team of the Transportation Commissioner.
Previously, 15 TIV was deployed and 11 speed weapons were distributed to enforce effective traffic regulations.
“Tiv is equipped with an automatic number camera recognition system, which can be used not only in detecting excessive cases, but also for other violations such as not wearing a helmet and a seat belt along with breath analysis to enforce interest,” said the release of the Department of Transportation.
Patowary urged commuters to comply with traffic rules to make Assam’s accident free.
“On December 31, 2020 and January 1, 2021, 29 lives lost in 69 accidents.
By following the traffic rules, let’s move to 2022 with an appointment to make the ASSAM path free accident,” said Patowary in his message.
Drive enforcement has been accelerated across the country by driving without helmets by motorists and piloters, driving and surpassing vehicles because the new year celebration is damaged by accidents on the road every year.
Since December 1, more than 11,000 cases of riding without helmets have been detected by the Department of Transportation in the state.
Patowary also led the meeting of the “state road safety board” on Tuesday, which was discussed how in the last three years (from 2018-2020) the country had recorded 23,191 road accidents claiming 8,803 lives.
In particular, around 56% of deaths are in the age group of 18-35 years, the most productive age group.
“Of all this accident, 6,149 two-wheeled involved.
About 75% of the road accidents have occurred due to excess speed,” said the release.
Patowary also requested NHAI, NHIDCL and State PWD to take the right steps and corrective steps about damaged signage, holes, accident guards, and strips rumbling on February 15.
