Bhubaneswar: Sunil Kumar Bansal, the 1987 Batch IPS officer, on Friday took over as the new police general director, replacing Abhay, and highlighted that the corruption and friendly-free policing would be the focus area in 2022.
Bansal, who returned to Odisha After almost 27 years in the central deputation, he would work hard to enforce the dignity of the police Odisha and his motto, ‘We serve and protect’.

Odisha is a progressive state where the police have increased significantly over the years.
We have adequate resources to further strengthen our police system.
We will deal with people like friends.
Women’s security, Children and senior citizens will always be given the most important, “Bansal said.
Bansal said he would ensure the right implementation of the Government’s Mo Sarkar and 5T government initiatives.
“Shipping services related to police faster and bound time for those in need, especially the oppressed communities, women and ST / STC will also be part of the road map,” he said.
The top COP said cyber crime has emerged as a global threat.
“We will work to strengthen cyber security, better investigations and beliefs,” Bansal said, who had served as Mayurbuhkanj SP from May 15, 1992 to January 22, 1994 and SP vigilance in Sambalpur from January 30, 1994 to January 26, 1994.
Bansal said The Odisha police received awards to succeed in limiting left wing extremism (LWE).
