Coimbatore: City Police arrested several members of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (TPDK) and other organizations after they held a demonstration condemning Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to hold a meeting (Shakha) at a private school place in Vilankurichi on Thursday.
Led by the Secretary General of TPDK Ku Ramakrishnan, TPDK member, Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) and Makkal Adhikaram gathered in front of the school and held a protest.
The protesters blocked the road and raised the slogan to RSS to destroy secularism.
They also condemned the government to give permission to conduct Shakha in educational institutions and urged the government to ban RSS.Police forcibly moved protesters and arrested 30 of them.
They were taken to the VKR wedding room on Jalan Vilankurichi.
