Bengaluru: The record of the Excise Ministry showed that the sale of liquor increased in the new year compared to last year.
While the 2.25 lakh carton box from Indian liquor was sold on December 31 last year, he went up to the 2.39 lakh carton box this time.
However, this was a considerable decline compared to 3,62 lakh boxes sold as of December 31, 2019 and 3.82 lakh years before that.
Excise officials said Tiplers might have bought liquor in advance because the government had announced hours of night and restrictions at the previous pora party.
