Mangaluru: After a one-year gap, Catholics in the city participated in a serious Eucharistic procession on Sunday.
It started from the Church of Milagres and peaked at the Rosario Cathedral.
Covid guidelines were determined by the government followed by participants.
Before the procession, the masses were offered by most Rev Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop, Mangalore’s diocese, in the Church of Milagres, after that the Eucharistic procession was held.
Procession, led by the bishop, ends with worship.
The Eucharistic procession was held in Epiphany’s sincerity, also called an epiphany party, theophany, or three kings.
In his homology, the bishop said, “Three kings from the east who came seeked Jesus, managed to find it through the scriptures, as they opened by the clerks.” Because of the pandemic, annual procession was not held last year.
This year, because the omicron variant of the Coronavirus novel, the Church authority was told about the protocol, and the organizing committee followed all the guidelines.
