Guwahati: The price of a commercial LPG cylinder (19 kg) has been reduced by Rs 102.50, thus offering assistance to hotel owners and restaurants in Guwahati.
The price of the commercial LPG cylinder now reached Rs 2,127.50, which was sold at Rs 2,230 in December last year.
This is the first time the price has been cut since July last year.
The commercial LPG cylinder price in July last year was Rs 1,681.50, after being reduced by RS 84.
The commercial LPG Cylinder has seen price increases from July to December.
Prices spin to Rs 1,749.50 in August, Rs 1,823 in September, Rs 1,855 in October and Rs 2,230 in December.
However, the domestic LPG cylinder price remained unchanged in January 2022 for January consecutively.
The cost of the domestic LPG cylinder is 14.2 kg RS 948.50 in Guwahati.
The price of the cylinder was pegged at Rs 933.50 in September, and rises to RS 948.50 in October.
Since then, the price of domestic LPG cylinders remains unchanged.
Price moderation is a blow to the profit margins of the public sector that conducts oil marketing companies because the government cites a strict fiscal position because it does not channel LPG subsidies in 2021-22.
Has, hotels and restaurants in Guwahati have welcome oil company decisions to cut the price of commercial cylinders .
They believe that the decline in prices will provide assistance to the industry as hotels and restaurants are still staggered under Pandemic Covid-19.
However, it was impossible to see changes in hotel and restaurant products because all Assam Associations of President Atul Lahkar urged the government to take the steps needed to control the price of essential commodities, vegetables, fish and meat on the market.
