Pune: A total of 68 positive samples of Covid-19, including 17 of Pune District, were found infected with the omicron variant of the virus throughout the state on Monday, taking the Maharashtra strain case to 578.
Reports released by the Ministry of Health State state stated that the maximum case Derived from Mumbai, Monday (40), followed by the City Limit Pune (14), Nagpur (4), Pune Rural (3) and Panvel (3).
Kolhapur, Navi Mumbai, Raigad and Satara reported one case of each new variant.
With the latest addition, the calculation of Pune District has reached 125.
The press statement from the State Health Department stated, “Of the 68 patients on Monday, 34 has been reported by the National Virology Institute (NIV) and 34 patients have been reported by the National Chemistry Laboratory (NCL).
“The statement stated that a total of 578 cases of omicron in the state, 259 cases had expired after successful recovery and negative results on the RT-PCR test.
This statement added that around 32,705 international passengers have arrived from ‘risky’ countries in Maharashtra since December 1 last year, including 302 found positive covids and their samples were finally sent to the genome sequencing.
