Patna: BJP leader and former Deputy Minister of Sushil Kumar Modi (Sumo) has demanded a healthy academic environment recovery in the state and an immediate arrest of Magadh Vice-Chancellor (VC) Rajendra Prasad, who accused of gathering very large wealth through a corrupt way.
Sumo told this reporter that the government had to take all the necessary steps to capture Prasad, whose residence and office was raided by the state alert unit in November, making cash and documents worth Crores Rupees.
“He has extended his medical leave and blocks the efforts of the vigilance team” he added.
Sumo continued, “Government coordination with Raj Bhavan about this must be increased and the arrest warrant was issued if VC refused to work with the investigation.” Speaking of other VCs, Sumo said, “With VC, Patliputra University (PPU), and University of Lalit Narayan Mithila (LNMU) facing serious corruption allegations, the image of higher education in Bihar has been tarnished, producing a bad name for the country.
Even though it faced a lot Allegations of corruption, Singh S Singh Lnmu have served as VC of two additional universities, which are very unfortunate.
If the newly appointed VC PPU does not consider the accusation within 40 days of notice, other members of the search committee panel must be appointed to post.
