Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has asked officials to accelerate the four stretch of Mangaluru-Bengalaru’s lange from the National Highway between BC Road and Addahole Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat on Thursday.
“The proposed visit from the Union Road Transportation Minister and Jalan Raya Nitin Gadkari on January 9 was postponed after the Covid-19 surge,” he said.
“However, there is no work that must be stuck at any cost.
I will personally check the work in all national highway stretches along with MLA from each region in 15 days,” Kateel said.
In the proposal to combine the toll gate in Kapathkal with the ones in Hejmady, MP said the discussion would be held with the National Highway Authority (NHAI) immediately.
Superintending Engineer Nhai, Anirudh Kamath, said that the work on BC Road-Addahole Stretch had seen 10% progress.
The acquisition of almost complete land in Kalladka and the foundation work for the flyover is underway, he added – the National Highway Project.
He also asked Nhai to accelerate the construction of the bridge across the national highway in Kuloor.A waste material recovery facilities (MRF) would be arranged in Thenka Edapadavu in Mangaluru with an estimated cost of Rs 2.5 Crore.
Waste treatment plants will be established in Golthamejalun, Uppinangady and Ujire with an estimated cost of Rs 2.82 Crore.
Plants will also be established in Sutia and Pattture Taluks.
Dry waste management facilities were founded in 194 grams of Panchayats in the district.
