Mumbai: In a joint operation, officials of the 9-branch of the Crime Mumbai and Police Bandra arrested the 48-year-old mahal population for allegedly making a threat to the BJP leader (MLA) Ashish Shelan.
This case was registered at the Bandra Police Station on Saturday and within a few hours, the defendant was identified as Osama Shamsher Khan was tracked from his maham home.
Khan, according to the police, was annoyed with MLA, for land disputes because his son had landed in prison.
A police team was formed based on the first information report (FIR) registered in complaints that Shelar had submitted to the Minister of Internal Affairs Walse Walse Patil on Saturday.
A written complaint was forwarded to the Commissioner of Mumbai Police which directed the Bandra police to recognize violations.
“Khan had been arrested under the IPC section for intimidating humiliation and criminal after he made a series of threats to MLA in the past few days,” said Senior Inspector of Police Bandra Manohar Dhanwade.
Khan, according to the police, he said frustrated for land disputes in Bandra and because his son faced an effort to kill the case.
“When his son was behind bars, Khan called on a cellphone, which was MLA from Bandra West, and threatened and threatened and threatened and threatened and threatened to abuse him,” police said.
After receiving a series of call threats, he filed a written complaint to the Minister of Home Affairs Patil and Police Commissioner Mumbai who was looking for immediate action.
In the complaint, Shelar said, “a caller had harassed it and threatened to kill me and my family member.” Shelar filed details from two telephone numbers where he received a threat call.
Khan was tracked after the police team found his existence through call data records (CDR).
