Kolkata: More than 10 children – in the age group 15-18 – vaccinated in Bengal after the drive was launched on January 3 Friday.
Among the 8.5 doses of the lakh vaccine given on Friday, 2.9 lakh was given to this age group.
There are around 48 children who meet the Lakh vaccine requirements in this group.
In Kolkata, more than 28,000 children have been inoculated, and throughout India, more than two crore children in this age group are vaccinated.
A senior state official said, “At this speed, we can complete the vaccination process for this age group at the end of the month.” Secretary La Martiniere Supriyo Dhar said, “Nearly 200 students have been vaccinated in three days.
The numbers increase every day.” As the KMC has been tied with schools in Kolkata, NKDA along with DPS Newtown holding a vaccination drive on Friday where 300 Students vaccinate.
Sonali Sen, Principal, DPS Newtown, said “We thank NKDA to lead our children to Covid’s free life.
We have planned another camp next week for other children in this age group.”
