MySuru: A forest officer and three Bandipur Tiger reserve forest staff had narrow escape with a light injury after a Tusker attacked their vehicle early on Friday.
Deputy Range Forest Officer (DRFO) of KP Amar and Mappa’s staff, Shivu and Rajanna suffered a minor injury but were fortunate to escape the attack of Tusker.
The incident occurred in the Neeralla area below the Omkara Forest Range in the Gundlupet Forest Division of around 6.30 in the morning when they tried to drive Tusker back to the forest, said forest officials.
However, Irritized Tusker suddenly demands a jeep.
Tusker attacked the vehicle with ivory and canceled it.
Despite receiving a minor injury, the foresters managed to scare Tusker and save their lives.
Gundlupet ACF K Paramesh and Omkar RFO HN Nagendra Nayaka rushed to place.
Wounded staff were treated at the forest office and a case registered at the police station Beguru.
Paramesh told TOI that the area where the incident occurred was a human-elephant conflict zone.
“Apart from the barricades, elephants tried to explore from the forest.
The incident occurred when the foresal tried to drive Tusker back to the forest,” he said.
