Mysuru: Despite the covid limit because of the threat of Omicron, MySuru City Corporation (MCC) has collected a collection of RC 133 Crore property taxes in the last nine months in the financial year of 2021-22, which was highest in recent years.
In the past three years, Civic’s body has collected property taxes RS 114 at an average of every year.

This year, MCC has collected more property taxes.
With a quarter of still having to leave, Civic’s body hopes to add another RS 50 Crore in property tax, register a collection of all-time property taxes.
Of the 1,83,949 property within the MCC limit, 1.58,593 is a general property and 25,379 whether the nature of income is categorized by commercial and super commercial properties.
General property, 13,972 is the site, 1,34,871 is home and 1,34,871 commercial companies.
As a property tax is the largest single source of income for city civil bodies, MCC has projected to produce RS 180 Crore from all properties.
With a 15% increase in property tax after this year’s revision.
The increase also includes all housing and commercial buildings, empty sites, industries, trust, cinemas and wedding space, commercial complexes, community rooms, malls, countries, hotels, schools, trust and college.
With this revision, the MCC that lacks cash is expected to increase its income, but cannot implement it this year after rigid resilience from the Canporator, selected members, trade and trade bodies.
Even so, MCC collects this highest property tax.
The main reason for noting property tax collection for this year is a collection of arrears from property taxpayers – the majority of them from commercial companies – delayed for years, said MCC income officials.
“Because many people were affected because of last year’s pandemic, MCC did not force anyone to pay delayed contributions.
However, MCC focused on collecting arrangements from cinemas, wedding spaces, hospitals, schools and government buildings and it helped the Civic body,” said Commissioner MCC Laxmikanth Reddy told toi.
Than these steps, tax extension for some more month taxpayers without any punishment, intensification of the tax collection drive in all nine zonal offices, drive mobile tax collection, door to door courcing drives by income inspectors, crackdown against absent Both online and offline tax payments tax initiated by MCC also helped tax collection, he said.
“MCC can produce more income if focusing on tax collection from income layout in the city because more than 50,000 income nature is left behind from the tax web,” said the former Mayor Arif Hussein told toi.
