He spoke after inaugurating Vivekananda Jayanti’s celebration and the Sunday National Youth at Hindustan College here.
The event was organized by the district government in collaboration with the Department of Youth and Sports Empowerment, MySuru Zilla Panchayat, and the NSS College unit.
“Today’s generation forgets those who fight for social reform, struggle for freedom, and other causes.
Youth must understand history.
They must start reading more,” he said.
Deputy Secretary of Mysuru ZP Prem Kumar said Vivekananda spread the aroma of Indian culture, inheritance and religion throughout the world.
“He led the rise of Indian values.
He is the highest spiritual leader in the country,” he said, adding vivekananda sermons will guide Indian communities forever.
K Suresh, Assistant Director, Department of Youth and Sports Empowerment, said the event would help motivate youth to take social services in addition to instilling various values in life.
