New Delhi: In a new warning, which is the Chief of Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the omicron variant of Coronavirus causes hospitalization and death throughout the world, and the narrative that is a misleading mild illness.
In the midst of a sustainable resurrection throughout the world, Coronavirus Caseload Global has reached 333.5 million, while death has soared to more than 5.55 million and vaccination becomes more than 9.68 billion, according to Johns Hopkins University.
“Don’t get me wrong, Omicron causes hospitalization and death, and even a less severe case is to flood health facilities,” WHO’s head said on Tuesday.
“Omicron might be less severe, on average, but the narrative that it is a misleading minor illness, hurts the overall response and costs more lives,” he added.
India on Wednesday reported 2,82,970 cases of fresh Covid in the last 24 hours, which was a grise of more than 18 percent of the previous day.
According to Tedro, Covid circulates too intense with many still vulnerable.
“For many countries, the next few weeks remain very important for the health system.
I urge everyone to do our best to reduce the risk of infection so you can help take pressure from the system,” he said.
Tedro said that we could still significantly reduce the impact of the current wave by sharing and using medical devices effectively and implementing public health and the social steps we know to work.
“Every variant of the Covid-19 virus, including Omicron, is dangerous and can cause: severe disease, death, further virus mutations and endanger the effectiveness of the tools we have to compensate,” WHO said.
