Patna: Of the five Nirlings Crore targeted to be planted throughout the state in this financial year, almost four crores have been planted so far.
These children have been planted under the ‘Mission 5.0 Crore’ scheme launched by CM Nith Kumar in June last year with the aim of increasing green cover in the state.
During the launch of this Mega program, CM has planted young mahogany trees in the official 1, Anne Marg Residence.
The State Environment, Forest and Climate Change Secretary of Secretary of the Secretary of Kumar Singh’s Dipak on Monday said that nearly four crore puppies have been planted so far.
“The ambitious target of five crores is deliberately stored so that the historical milestone can be achieved.
The wood anus has been largely planted under the scheme,” he added.
Asked about the status of green cover in the state after the addition of new puppies, Singh said the department counted the number of trees and would immediately announce the right number.
The previous government said that forest cover in the country was 15% and new initiatives would make it 17%.
Singh added various plans made to create awareness among ordinary people about the importance of green cover, but some of them cannot be executed due to covid pandemics.
“We use the media platform to receive messages to people.
We previously planned to arrange programs for school children and hold ‘Nukkad Natak’ for consciousness.
However, the Covid pandemic cancels our plan,” Singh added.
