Rajkot: A city bus driver Rajkot Vijay Kapadi (30) was detained by the police for allegedly struggling a 65-year-old motorcycle rider near Malaiviya Chowk in the city on Friday.
Kapadi’s video allegedly thrashed the elderly men became viral on social media.
Following criticism by netizens, Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) ordered an internal investigation and requested agencies that operate the bus to merek drivers.
According to the police, around noon while driving the city bus Kapadi must apply a break when the cyclist tried to follow the vehicle.
Kapadi lost patience and began throwing violations into cyclists.
Viral videos also show Kapadi hit the elderly man.
The video was recorded by people who passed on their cellphones and shared on the social media platform.
C G Joshi, Police Inspector from a Division Police Station said, “We have ordered Kapadi under the IPC Part 151 for disturbing public peace.
If the elderly cyclist filters, we will add more costs to Kapadi.”
