Pair is held for fake pawning gold

Thiruvananthapuram: Thiruvallom Police here on Sunday arrested a 42-year-old man and his 25-year-old girlfriend on charges of cheating after they were suspected of deceiving Rs 1.2 lakh from a personal finance company by cutting fake gold ornaments.
The police identified the defendant as Abdul Rahman from Manikkavilakom near Ponthura and Ramsi Vallakkadavu.Police said the allegations of crime were carried out on January 15 at the Aparna Finance company in Vandithadam.
According to complaints submitted by the owner of the company, the Duo arrived at Maruti Suzuki Swift and took a loan Rs 1.2 lakh against the security of gold ornaments weighing 36 grams.
After they left, the owner, while checking a copy of the receipt, noting that there were only nine digits in the telephone number distributed by a partner.
He immediately runs out of company to stop them, but they have left.
On further examination, he realized that the ornaments and documents they provided were all fake.
He immediately warned the police and shared the features of the car because he could not record the registration number.
Defensively identified and arrested after a broad probe carried out by a team led by Thiruvallom Station House Inspector Suresh V Nair and Bipin Prakash Sub Inspector, Vaisakh and Kumar under the Poonthura police station too.
Abdul Rahman was also accused of the case of vehicle theft examined by medical police.
