New Delhi: A 40-year-old doctor who worked at London Hospital, allegedly died of suicide at his residence at Kailash Greater South Delhi, police said on Monday.
The deceased, was identified as Megha Kayal, in depression after she lost her 79-year-old mother recently, police said, adding suicide notes was also found from the place.
The police said “the injury caused by himself” was found in the late thigh.
Kayal has worked at the Milton Keynes University hospital in London as a neurologist for the past year.
Before that, he was a doctor at the Apollo Hospital in Sarita Vihar Delhi, he said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Bonita Jaiker said after receiving the legal case of Medico (MLC) about suicide from Apollo Hospital on Sunday, a police team reached the deceased’s house.
Kayal’s sister-in-law told the police that after his mother’s death on January 27 due to disease, kayal in depression.
His father was also a cancer patient, police said.
“About 7.
40 in the morning, Kayal’s brother opened the door to his room using a duplicate key after the deceased did not come out even though he was called by his family repeatedly.” In the room, Kayal was found unconscious.
The injury caused by his thigh was also found.
Immediately, family members shift to the Apollo Hospital where he was declared dead, “DCP said.
The suicide note was also found.
There was no foul game allegedly by his family member, he said.
Kayal was very surprised because of that.
The death of his mother and in depression, he added .
The police said the inspection process was being carried out and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem.
