Coimbatore: Covid-19 fresh infection fell below 3,000-mark in the district as 2,865 new cases reported on Sunday.
While 3,917 people were sent home, 26,044 people were in treatment.
The level of participants in the district reached 26.2%.
Two people died of infection.
A 76-year-old man who was treated at a private hospital on Friday with difficulty breathing, tested positive and died that day.
A 62-year-old woman, who was positively tested on Wednesday and was treated at Medical College Coimbatore Hospital, also died.
With this, 2,565 people have died of infection.
Health officials collected 31,800 of 104 people, which were found without masks in the city.
Of the 105 commercial companies checked, nine were found with violations.
5,800 is collected well from the company.
1,497 new cases were reported in the Tirupur district.
While 1,027 people were sent home, 11,862 were in treatment.
Two people died of Covid.
The district has the highest level of participation in the state at 29.1%.
