The ancient village of Jharragram, Khawbgaon, is no longer the work of the dream of its founders.

One of the workshops recently is Dokra’s job.
About 20 contemporary artistes, along with veterans in crafts, carried out workshops including village children and lasted for about a month.
“There are plans to establish a center here from Khawbgaon where Dokra’s work will be produced in the future to sell throughout the country,” said Mrinal Mandal, Curator and Coordinator of the Khawbgaon Project.

Recently, the drive of pandemic awareness was carried out together by Unicef University and Jadavpur with the help of original arts and crafts by residents of tribal villages.

“Because of logistics problems, bulk orders have diminished in recent years.
Tourists have been stopped from visiting the place.
And this workshop was carried out under a tight Covid protocol.
