Kolkata: Industrial Township Authority Nabadiganta (Ndita) has prepared a detailed plan, after consulting with experts, to prevent water from moving in the V sector before the next monsoon.
The plan is to arrange new foot cover and gate gate in the East Drainage Channel along with new drainage pumping stations and repair and repair the drainage network system.
Ndita officials said that a new lincung closing and the Sluice gate would be installed in the East Drainage Channel at three outlets to prevent storm water flowing again during heavy rain.
“The Vetwork Sector V Sector is mostly connected with the East Drainage Channels where the excess rainwater throughout the V sector is dried.
During heavy rain, the canal water surface increases when excessive rain water is not dried resulting in a puddle of water.
The new Sluice Gate will have a one-way valve that will be Close the outfall line to prevent the flow of water back, “said an Ndita official.
The authorities have initiated the process to involve the agency to install a new system where RS 1.3 Crore has been estimated.
The new drainage pumping station will also be arranged near the Metro Sector V.
Station currently there are four pump stations in the V sector and each has three pumps.
Higher capacity pumps can increase water at 2,000 cubic meters per hour and each of the two smaller pumps has a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters per hour.
The new pump station will also have the same configuration pump.
“Drainage conditions have deteriorated in some places to be repaired and changed,” said an official.
IT Hub along with new city areas and Salt Lake have witnessed severe waterlogging for several winter.
The main reason has become a bagjola and an overflowing ktopur canal.
The irrigation department will start whizzing the two canals starting in February and so on.
Hidco has also begun to work to explore the internal link channels flowing in a new city for improving which is expected to be completed in June.
