Kolkata: The Chairman of the Minister of Mamata Banerjee announced the cabinet decision on Monday that the state government launched an internship scheme and would take 6,000 apprentice workers from now which have completed their undergraduate studies.
CM said that the internship scheme of West Bengal students in 2022 will be for a period of one year.
During that time an internship will be posted in government offices in the district, sub-divisions or blocks.
“They will be posted closer to their residence and will be paid at Rs 5,000 per month.
After successfully completing their internships, it will be reviewed,” CM said.
He added that those under 40 years will be able to apply for this internship.
He also said that the students who had completed their courses in the polytechnic or iti or equivalent courses would be able to apply for an internship, provided they all had received a value of 60%.
Internships will be given scope to interact with various state programs and projects so they learn to do social work.
They will get an internship throughout the year and will be reviewed.
Those who appear well can even continue further.
Candidates who intend to register online and then will be played by the selection board led by the Head of Secretary H K Dwivedi.
Thus, every year 6,000 apprentice workers will work in the government scheme and study how government functions and they will also be used in catering services to the community.
If there are more decent candidates, then they can be selected in a phase and the main secretary must determine the selection process.
CM also asks officials to coordinate with the education department too.
He said that the candidates chosen would be diaularly in the state government office and even government businesses.
On successful solutions, they will get a certificate and rank and assessment that will benefit their study and get a job, CM said.
