Mumbai: In the midst of a lot of anxiety in a political circle, the draft list of the 236 election environmental boundaries was released on Tuesday for the upcoming BMC poll.
The number of wards has increased nine out of 227 available.

The process of sending suggestions and objections to the BMC Commissioner at the electoral office or to the ward office in question began on Tuesday (February 1) and will continue until February 14.
Residents who apply to objections and suggestions will be informed about hearing date.
After the audience is complete, the final list of environmental boundaries will be published on March 2 thereafter, the lottery for Ward reservations will be held.
The period of 227 Corporator at the BMC home ended on March 8.
If the election date is announced before March 8, the current corporate body will stop there and power will be given to the Head of BMC.
As part of preparation for civilian elections, BMC will add around 4,000 poll chambers to maintain the situation of Covid-19 in mind.
At present, there are 7,900 booths.
Each room is known to have 1,400-1,500 voters but will now have around 800 for polls 2022.
Officials said between the 2001 and 2011 census, the population in the BMC has grown by 3.87%, an increase of 1.5 lakh voters.
Thane Municipal Corporation and Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation also published the concept of notification of new environmental formation in civilian elections there.
Both civil bodies appealed to residents to submit suggestions and objections in two weeks before the environmental boundary was resolved by the State Election Election Commission.
Multi-panel Ward in TMC increased from 33 to 47, with 46 wards having 3 members and one with 4.
Thane will now have 142 cannings.
In NMMC, 41 wards have been formed and all but one will have a 3-corporator panel.
The number of Corporators has reached 122 of 111.
