Guwahati: The day after Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union budget for 2022-23 in parliament, the Assam Cabinet on Wednesday was approved by establishing a high-level task unit to oversee “the right implementation of PM Gati Shakti’s plan,” which is a transformative approach.

To start, PM Gatishakti Master Plan for a freeway will be formulated on 2022-23 to managers and faster goods movements.
Sitharman has announced in his speech that the national highway network will be expanded 25,000 km at 2022-23 and RS 20,000 Crore will be mobilized through innovative financing ways to complement public resources.
The cabinet also gave sanctions RS 958 Crore to increase 114 roads and construction of six rustic bridges and RS 11,031 Crore to improve and improve vital road projects in the state.
The cabinet further gave sanctions RS 156 Crore for the acquisition of more than 124 BIGHA’s private land to facilitate the expansion of Jorhat Airport (Rowriah) by Indian airport authorities.
The Cabinet also established a cabinet committee led by Minister Dr.
Romanj Puru and Keshab Mahanta to finalize the state symbol to create different symbols that would indicate and represent Assam visually.
