Hyderabad: Indian soldiers will get KONKURS-M, Missile Guided Anti-tank, which is produced by Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Hyderabad.
BDL and Indian soldiers signed a contract worth RS 3.131.82 Crore for the manufacture and supply of missiles.
Konkurs-M is the second generation, mechanical anti-tank infantry guides missile, to destroy armored vehicles equipped with explosive reactive armor.
Missiles can be launched from BMP-II tanks or from land launchers.
It has a range of 75 to 4,000 meters with flight time of 19 seconds.
The contract, signed in New Delhi today on Wednesday, will be executed in three years.
“The position of the BDL order book stands at RS 11,400 Crore Net, including the Konkurs-M contract signed today,” BDL said in a statement.
CMD, BDL Commodore Siddharth Mishra (REPD) said Konkurs -m was produced by BDL in a license agreement with the Russian OEM (original equipment manufacturer).
“The missile has been spit out to the maximum limit.
BDL also offers Konkurs-M missiles for export to foreign countries that are friendly,” he said.
BDL has increased its manufacturer’s capacity to meet domestic and overseas demand for Konkurs M.
As part of its global outreach, BDL also offers Missile anti-tanks portable, NAG, MILAN-2T and Amogha, beside its Konkur -M, for export.
