Vadodara: The five deaths of other people who have been positively tested for Covid-19 are confirmed by Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC).
The number is the highest in a day in the third wave even when the number of new cases reported in the city has also increased.
VMC confirms five deaths including those with comorbidity after receiving a report of the Death Audit Committee.
The number of positive cases also increased by 1,512 people testing positive on Friday against 1,413 on Thursday.
What was more surprising was that the number of cases on Friday was reported from only 6,595 tests against 8,610 tests on Thursday.
The testicitivity ratio of the test jumped from 16.41 percent to 22.92 percent.
The VMC Medical Officer Devesh Patel said that they stated whatever data they received from the testing facilities.
The number of active cases in the city falls further to 12,847 because the release goes beyond new cases.
The number of patients is serious on the bipap or ventilator engine reaches 31.
The number remains around 30 for the last 12 days.
The source says that this is expected when patients under such conditions tend to have a longer period of hospitalization.
