Mumbai: The temporary report of the Maharashtra State Backward Commission (MSBCC) class on the OBC quota in the local agency poll supports the state law that allows OBC quota up to 27% as long as the overall limit is 50% not crossed, said the source.
The state faces a series of local polls in the coming months, including 15 major city companies.

Source said the panel report said that Article 243 D Constitution, which provides a quota for SCS and STS in Pancayats, recognizes that the state can repeat to provide a quota for “citizen backup classes”.

The state law provides the OBC quota in local polls with motorists who have been combined with sc / sc quota, total reservations will not pass 50%.
The upper limit in the OBC quota will be 27%.
If in the district, the SC or ST quota is high, the OBC quota will be lower.
SC has canceled the OBC quota in March.
It asks the state to organize commissions to provide empirical data about OBC backwardness in the local body.
In September, the state issued an ordinance to allow quota.

In the last SC greetings in January, the court said the state must provide data on OBC to MSBCC, which must examine it and provide a temporary report to the court.
