Silchar: A Dacoit involved in a number of injured cases in police shots when he tried to escape the police detention in the Cachar District Sonai Block on Sunday.
A police officer said the injured person was identified as Hussain Ahmed Laskar, a resident of Dhonehari Village in Blok Sonai Cachar District.
The defendant was arrested by Sonal police on Friday night in connection with various robberies, the official said.
The police recovered a 0.32 mm gun from his ownership.
During the interrogation, the man told the police that he would guide them to a place where he had hidden prohibited items but he tried to escape the scene during the operation.
To stop him from escaping, the police must use a controlled shooting, the police official said.
