Guwahati: The Chairman of Ministers Himanta Buswa Sarma on Sunday said the Government Assam would withdraw all covid restrictions if the Covid scene did not deteriorate in the state.
“If the Covid case does not surge, we will attract all the restrictions related to Covid from February 15.
The night hours will be withdrawn, schools and colleges will also be reopened.
People will be allowed to celebrate bihou too,” Sarma told MediodPersons.
Last week, the minister’s chairman expressed hope that schools would be reopened in the state of February 15.
Offline classes until class VIII remained canceled after Covid cases jumped since mid-January.
Night at night also continues from 10pm to 6 in the morning every day.
At 2.11%, the level of covid test (TPR) positivity was down for the first time in a month on Saturday night.
In the third wave, TPR passed 2% in Assam on January 6 and continued to surge.
Even when TPR increased slightly to 2.39% on Sundays, health officials were sure they would get “total control” over the third wave in the state in a few weeks.
“In the past week, there is an unexpected increase in Covid situations in Greater Guwahati.
If the infection pattern does not shift towards the rural again in the third wave, Covid will soon be controlled,” said a senior health department official.
While the Covid scene in the capital is the biggest problem, it has shown a real increase since the end of January.
Of the 4.81% TPR reported in Kamrup (Metro) on January 31, the same increased to 4.17% on Sundays.
After doing 10,691 tests, 256 positive cases were detected in the state on Sunday, when 2,471 patients were repatriated.
The number of Covid deaths too, has decreased to 12 in the last 24 hours.
Covid Active Assam cases reach 8,354 on Sunday night.
Except for cumbrup (metro), in all districts, the infection rate has declined significantly.
In the last 10 days (from January 28 to February 6), 3,101 the highest case has been detected in Kamrup (Metro).
