New Delhi: A student of Delhi is allegedly trying to end his life by setting himself on Tuesday during the protest to demand the return of offline classes, police said.
Students did not suffer injuries, they said, added that he was immediately saved by the police and taken to the hospital, they said.
Kamal TiWee (23), who came from Kanpur at Uttar Pradesh, was the first year of Ma Buddhist at Delhi University, they said, adding that students were being advised by professionals.
According to the police, during the protest by Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti, TIWEE tried to pour gasoline to himself to make him burn.
“Our team at that place immediately stopped him and the students were removed from there and were taken to HRH Hospital.
Learned that the liquid he poured on himself was a mixture of gasoline and water.
