Ahmedabad: Special Pocso Court here has ordered compensation Rs 2 lakh for a boy, who is a sodomy victim, and directs his parents to use interest in the amount of compensation for his education.
While punishing the defendant, the court observed that such incidents could cause inferiority complexes for victims who might live under unknown fears for the rest of their lives.
This will cause obstacles for their future.
The court then ordered Payment of Rs 2 Lakh under the victim’s compensation scheme to children for rehabilitation.
This ordered the amount put into a permanent deposit and allowed the victim’s parents to attract the number of interest to be used for children’s education.
The amount of compensation can be withdrawn by the victim as soon as he becomes an adult, the court said.
Chauhan PC, the judge at the city session court, holding one Mayur Suthar (21) was guilty of sodomizing the boy and gave him a 10-year prison department under the terms of the protection of children from the acts of sexual violations (Pocso).
The boy, the son of a police officer with Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), was kidnapped and disiodized in October 2017.
The Odhav police registered FIR against Suthar and submitted a charging sheet demanding it.
Prosecutor Vijaysinh Chavda examined 15 witnesses in this case and relied on 14 documents including reports by the Forensic Science Laboratory during the trial.
