Biharsharif: Nalanda police flew a drone over the Pahari area under the Sohsarai police station area at Biharsharif, to track liquor smugglers on Tuesday.
Although the exercise was unsuccessful, Biharsharif Sadar Sdpo Shibli Nomani, who oversaw the operation, stated that the drone would be used in other regions in the district to track liquor smugglers.
This is the same location where at least 12 people were killed on January 15 and 16, allegedly followed the consumption of fake liquor on January 14.
Police recovered more than 500 liters of forbidden liquor from several houses in Chhoti Pahadi and its surroundings during a massive search.
The operation was launched after the tragic incident.
They also confiscated a large number of equipment used to filter, produce, and pack forbidden liquor, as well as some motorbikes used to transport them.
Some liquor smugglers were arrested in the Pahadi Par area, and Sunita Devi’s kingpin, her son Suraj Kumar, and others then gave up on the Biharsharif Court.
Between January 15, 18, the police arrested more than 160 liquor smugglers who had avoided arrests for a long time during special trips in all districts.
They recovered more than 3,000 liters of liquor and destroyed more than 3 tons of raw materials used to produce it.
Meanwhile, Nalanda District Administration has issued a notification to the population of 19 houses built illegally in the Chhoti Pahadi region to empty them on February 11.
Dharmendra Pandit, Officer Circle Biharsharif, said the houses were identified as sales and manufacturing liquor.
He stated that if not all stayed was told emptied by deadlines, they would be destroyed.
